In 2023, the Rural Development Agency is launching a new program
With the involvement of the Ministry of Environment and Agriculture, the Rural Development Agency, the European Union (EU) and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), a new, so-called, leader program has been prepared. The program envisages the European model of rural development and implies the institutional involvement of local development groups formed by representatives of the public, private and civil sectors in the process of program implementation. In particular, based on the strategic vision of local development, the projects selected by them will be financed in the directions of entrepreneurship development, sustainable use of natural resources, energy-efficient and renewable energy development and innovation.
"It is important for us to implement EU standards in the direction of agriculture. The new program, the implementation of which will begin in 2023, will be fully tested with the programs operating in the EU countries, which means, with the direct involvement of the local population, the determination of the directions where this or that municipality needs state support", said the director of the Rural Development Agency, Ilia Tamarashvili.
