In Senaki Municipality, Rural Development Agency financed the planting of the blue blueberry garden and the creation of the cold farming
Deputy of director of the Rural Development Agency – Natalia Kharatishvili and deputy of the state attorney of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - Davit Verava, saw the blue blueberry plantation and cold storage farm of the beneficiary company of the Rural Development Agency "Blue Garden" in the village of Zana of Senaki municipality.
„Supportive state projects and programs, which are implemented by the Rural Development Agency, helps to the farmers in almost all links of the value chain, that include primary production, storage and processing, support of access to markets,"- stated the deputy of the director of the Rural Development Agency-Natalia Kharatishvili.
Deputy of the director of the agency mentioned, that within the co-financing program of the processing and storage enterprises, across Georgia, 114 cold farming are co-financed; The preferential agro-credit issued with the purpose of creation and development of the cold farms exceeds to 164 million GEL.
In 2020, in the village Zana of Senaki municipality, the company “Blue Garden” through the program “Plant the future” received co - finacing with the amount 249,664 GEL, and the preferential agro-credit that consisted 500,000 GEL. The company has used the supportive programs even in 2021 – for arrangement of the cold farming equipped with the modern standards, received the grant of the Rural Development Agency 484,000 GEL, and the preferential agro-credit 730,000 GEL.
Cold farming has ability to keep 250 Tones of blue blueberries. In the company permanently are employed 15 local individuals, and on seasons, number of daily workers reaches up to 150. The production is intended as for the export, as well for the local market.
