With the support of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia and organized by the Rural Development Agency, seven Georgian companies participated in the international exhibition RIGA FOOD 2024, held in Riga, Latvia
The Director of the Rural Development Agency, Davit Tsitlidze, and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Republic of Latvia, Irakli Kurashvili, hosted the Latvian Minister of Agriculture, Armands Krauze, at the Georgian stand.
Seven companies presented their agricultural products at the RIGA FOOD 2024 exhibition: Achinebuli Ltd., GeoNaturals Ltd., AquaGeo Ltd., Khutsishvili Brothers Ltd., the Ruispiri-Ikalto Cooperative, Vinagora Ltd., and Kula Ltd. Products such as wine, natural juices, and various types of preserves were showcased.
“We continue to support Georgian products in strategic markets; of course, the EU market is particularly important. In Riga, where the largest international exhibition in the Baltic states is held, Georgian producers are represented at the Georgian stand, organized by the Rural Development Agency. Participation in international exhibitions significantly helps Georgian companies expand their export opportunities,” noted Davit Tsitlidze, Director of the Rural Development Agency.
According to Irakli Kurashvili, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Republic of Latvia, Georgia's participation in the RIGA FOOD 2024 international exhibition is especially significant because interest in Georgian products has grown in Latvia, particularly since Georgia became a candidate for EU membership. He also mentioned that the visit of Latvian government representatives to the Georgian stand further confirms Latvia’s interest in Georgia.
This year, the RIGA FOOD 2024 exhibition included participation from 30 countries and over 400 local and international companies operating in the agricultural sector.
