In Racha-Lechkumi and Kvemo Svaneti regions, the program for promotion of entrepreneurial activity in mountainous regions was introduced to local population
“New program for promotion of entrepreneurial activity in mountainous regions is launched by the Rural Development Agency of Georgia. The program will afford the opportunity to local population to start activities, earn income and provide employment opportunities in their own place of residence. Program terms and procedures were introduced to population in Ambrolauri and Tsageri. Similar meetings will be also held in other municipalities” – Mrs. Natalia Kharatishvili, Deputy Director of Rural Development Agency said during the introduction of the program in Ambrolauri region, where she was on visit together with Mrs. Krsitine Kobakhidze, the Deputy State Representative.
Applications for the program for “Promotion of entrepreneurial activities in mountainous regions” will be accepted by the Rural Development Agency since June 27.
Co-financing per potential beneficiary should amount no less than 30,000 GEL and not exceeding 100,000 GEL, but no more than 50% of total cost of the project submitted. Additional 10% benefit is provided for young entrepreneurs and agricultural cooperatives. It should be noted that total cost of the project submitted through the application should not exceed 500 000 GEL for the time of application submission. It is worth mentioning that the program will finance both agricultural (except for primary production) and non-agricultural activities, warehousing, processing enterprises, wineries, small family hotels, catering facilities as well as any business idea, except the exceptions provided by the program.
