Blueberry orchards have been arranged in Guria region by the LTD Lurji Veli and LTD Motsvi within the framework of the agro-project Plant the Future. Mr. Levan Dolidze, the manager of the agro-project Plant the Future of the Agricultural Projects Management Agency, together with Mr. Gia Salukvadze, the Governor of Guria region and representatives of local administration, in the village Laituri, Ozurgeti district, Guria region, had examined the blueberry orchards planted on 10 hectares by the beneficiary participants - LTD Lurji Veli and LTD Motsvi - of the program. The above mentioned companies joined the program in 2016 year. The area of the orchards planted by the LTD Lurji Veli and LTD Motsvi is 5-5 hectares. The LTD Lurji Veli, as well as the LTD Motsvi received 75 000 GEL for arrangement of orchards and irrigation systems. 66,096.16 GEL of the financing received by both companies was allocated for seedlings and 8,903.84 GEL for drip irrigation system. Within the framework of the agro-project Plant the Future the orchards have been arranged in Guria region on 24 hectares land plots. Across the country the total area of arranged new orchards amounts to 1 438 hectares and the sum of funding is more than 7,4 million GEL. On the initiative of the Ministry of Agriculture of Georgia the agro-project Plant the Future of the Agricultural Projects Management Agency has been initiated since 2015 year. The purpose of the project is the maximum support for increase of intended use of agricultural land and arrangement of perennial gardens and nursery gardens in all municipalities of Georgia (except Tbilisi, Rustavi, Batumi, Kutaisi and Poti). Capacity of co-financing within the framework of the agro-project Plant the Future amounts to: In case of orchard arrangement 70% of seedling price and 50% of drip irrigation system. In case of Nursery gardens 50% of the value of arrangement. Agricultural Projects Management Agency carries out the united Agroproject intended for a long-termed development. The purpose of the above mentioned Agroproject is the promotion of competitiveness, stable growth of high-quality production, food safety and maintenance of food security.
