Within the frameworks of United AgroProject Shalva Bosikashvili, a beneficiary of the Agroproduction Promotion Program received the financing in the amount of 14 720 GEL to purchase a new tractor and agricultural equipment for the 3 hectare farming area located in village Shaumiani, Marneuli region. Slava Bosikashvili has a blackberry garden on the 3 hectare-area. Grant Project Manager of Agricultural Project Management Agency Tornike Kapanadze, together with the representatives local governance examined the agricultural equipment purchased by the farmer on place. Agroproduction Promotion Program is implemented by the Agricultural Project Management Agency with the assistance of Agricultural Modernization, Market Access and Flexibility Project (AMMAR). The program is financed by International Fund for Agriculture Development (IFAD) and Global Environmental Protection Foundation (GEF). Co-financing of the agency envisaged by the project amounts 40 % of the total sum of the project and the participation of the beneficiary amounts 60%. Co-financing for the beneficiary of Agroproduction Promotion Program is issued according to two components: Primary production component - financing of individual farmers, commercial legal entities registered in Georgia and agricultural cooperatives. Component of processing enterprises - financing of active processing and savings enterprises and agricultural cooperatives. United AgroProject is implemented by the Agricultural Project Management Agency within the frameworks of Produce in Georgia-Business. It is envisaged for long-term development and aims to create the environment that ensures increase of competitiveness in agriculture, stable growth of high quality products and introduction of international standards of food safety.
