Hail-protection nets arranged in Karaleti village within the frames of the United Agroproject
Mr. Giorgi Khojevanishvili, the beneficiary of the Program of Agro-production Promotion received 35 900 GEL for the purchase of hail protective net for the apple garden planted in 3.5 hectares in the village of Karaleti in the Shida Kartli region within the frames of the United Agroproject.
Mr. Tornike Kapanadze, Grant Project Manager of the Agriculture Project Management Agency, along with Mr. Kakha Samkharadze, the Governor of Shida Kartli Region and the representatives of local self-government, got acquainted with the process of arrangement of hail protection net on the place.
The Program of Agro-production Promotion aims in the first place at helping the small land owner farmers involved in agriculture in different directions as well as modernizing the operating storing and processing enterprises, which is one more significant support from the government and donor organizations for proper and effective development of the agricultural sector the Project Manager declared.
The Program of Agro-production Promotion is implemented by the Agriculture Projects Management Agency with the support of the "Agricultural Modernization, Market Access and Flexibility Project" (AMMAR).
The program is funded by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and the Global Environment Fund (GEF).
The volume of the co-financing of the Agency, envisaged by the Program, amounts to 40% of the total value of the submitted project, while the volume of the beneficiary's co-participation amounts to 60%.
Co-financing for the beneficiaries of the Program of Agro-production Promotion will be issued for two components:
Primary production component - financing of individual farmers, commercial legal entities registered in Georgia and agriculture cooperatives;
Component of processing enterprises - financing of operating processing and storing enterprises and agricultural cooperatives.
