Cattle Farm has been Launched in Kvemo Kartli Region
Livestock Farm Niba 2008 equipped in compliance with modern standards was built in Village Kumisi, in Gardabani municipality within the framework of the United AgroProject. In total up to GEL 1,054,000 was invested in the construction of the farm, wherefrom GEL 854,000 was issued to the beneficiaries on preferential agro credit terms and the remaining amount was their savings.
Paata Shekeladze, Director of the Agriculture Projects Management Agency of the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture, together with the local self-government representatives visited the farm and get acquainted with the production process. The farm produces 3 tons of milk per day. The product is intended to be realized on the local market. 5 local residents are constantly employed at Niba 2008, and 10 people are added seasonally. It should be mentioned that the company plans to obtain HACCPs international certificate for processing production, through the States support.
Through the states assistance, 190 new enterprises were financed in the framework of the Uniform Agro Project, from which 24 enterprises were opened in Kvemo Kartli region.
The financial support from the State has encouraged the entrepreneurs to develop and expand their production. The Agricultural Projects Management Agency carries out the United Agro Project, which is envisaged for long-term development and aims to create an environment that will promote the increase of competitiveness in agriculture, stable growth of high quality products, introduction of international standards of food safety.
