Levan Davitashvili Opened “McDonald's“ Logistic Center
Mr. Levan Davitashvili, the Minister of Agriculture attended the opening ceremony of the McDonalds logistic center in Tbilisi; the center introduced the salad line with the support of the project Agro Credit Project - Produce in Georgia, which will be focused on the full supply of the McDonald's system throughout Transcaucasia. 2,650,000 US dollars in total have been spent for introduction of the systems and the arrangement of industry, of which 650,000 US dollars was a preferential agro-credit. I would like to emphasize that the tools, offered by the government to the private sector, allows Georgia to develop as a logistics hub and gain a regional significance. McDonald's is one of the first international brands, which appeared in Georgia and developed over the years very smoothly and successfully. It is also very important for us to develop local production, which will be directly connected to the McDonald's logistics center and the processing enterprises. Accordingly, Georgian local agricultural products shall be occurred in Georgian network of the McDonald's and then we will think about the export Mr. Levan Davitashvili declared. The opening ceremony was attended by Mr. Philip Mead, the Director of the European Division of McDonald's Logistics, Mr. Temur Chkonia and Mr. Tengiz Kapanadze, the Director General. The McDonald's logistics center is designed for the Transcaucasian region; its planning process involved theEuropeanMcDonald's and its official partner, the German logistics companyHAVI.Logistics center, which has no analogue in Transcaucasia, is equipped with the latest technology and meets the highest standards recognized in Europe. The storage is provided with -20 freezers, dry and cold areas, which in turn implies a full range of logistics services potential.
The full area of the center is3300 square meters;
The investment made for the center amounts 2.3 million Euros;
The center employs 30 people;
The center has the ability to produce 1500 tons of products per day;
McDonald's is a leading global network of the restaurants, it operates over 36 000 restaurants in the world's 119 countries and serves about 68 000 000 people a day. In Georgia, the first restaurant of the McDonald's was opened in 1999 and today it already has 11 branches - in Tbilisi, Batumi, Kutaisi, Zugdidi and Rustavi. According to the survey results of 2016, McDonald's Georgia was named as the best in Europe.
