A new berry garden is constructed in Marneuli
In frames of the United Agroproject, a cooperation Georgian berry has constructed a raspberry and strawberry garden on the 7 ha land parcel which is located in the village Akhlomakhmudlo of the Marneuli District. The Georgian berry was involved in the program Implement the future in 2017 and got a state funding in the amount of 53,305 lari for construction of gardens and implementation of irrigation systems; from this amount 35, 805 lari were spent on procurement of saplings, and 17,500 lari on arranging of dropping systems.
This Cooperation represents a start-up of 3 women who decided to launch an agricultural activity and to construct a berry garden. In future the cooperation is planning to reach a standard of the biological plant on the territory of the already arranged garden. The Manager of the program Implement in future of the Agricultural Projects Management Agency Levan Dolidze visited the raspberry and strawberry gardens of the Georgian berry together with representatives of the local self-government. In scopes of the project Implement in future, on the territory of Georgia, new fruit gardens have already been constructed on 4,293 ha.
Amount of the state funding makes up 22, 271,868 million lari a part of which was spent on construction of fruit gardens on the 672 ha area in Kvemo-Kartli region. The Agricultural Projects Management Agency, in scopes of the Produce in Georgia Business, is implementing the United Agricultural Project, which is designed for long-termed development and is focused on creation of a kind of the environment which will support increasing of competitiveness in the agricultural sector, sustainable upgrading of production of high quality products, and implementing of international standards applicable in the field of safety of food.
