new orchards in Qvemo Qartli
New orchards are being planted by Rasul Valiev Kvemo kartli under the state program Plant the Future of the Agricultural Project Management Agency.
Today, the manager of the Agricultural Project Management Agency program Plant the Future Levan Dolidze, together with the State Representative - Governor of Kvemo Kartli Paata Khizanishvili viewed the garden cultivation process of one of the beneficiaries participating in the program, Rasul Valiev in the village Seid Godjalo of Marneuli region Kvemo Kartli. Rasul Valiev -involved in the program from 2016 and has received the state funding of GEL 30,758.15 for walnut orchard on 8.47 hectares and arrangement of irrigation system. Out of the received funds GEL 19,635.00 are intended for seedlings and 11,123.15 GEL for drip systems.
In Kvemo Kartli: by the end of the year new orchards of apples,plums,sour plums,persimmons and walnuts will be planted on 201 hectares in Marneuli ,Bolnisi and Tetritksaro regions. As of today the area for cultivation of new orchards and arrangement of irrigation system throughout the country amounts to 1383.55 hectares and the amount of funding exceeds 7.095 million GEL.
With the initiative of the Ministry of Agriculture, the implementation of the Agricultural Project Management Agency program Plant the Future was launched in 2015. Its goal is to provide maximum support of the intended use of agricultural land, cultivation of perennial gardens and arrangement of nurseries in all municipalities of Georgia except (Tbilisi, Rustavi, Batumi, Kutaisi and Poti).State co-financing for the program Plant the Future will be as follows
In case of planting the orchard - 70% of plant costs and 50% of dripping system costs; In case of nursery gardens 50 % of the costs for the creation of nursery gardens.
5 million GEL will be spent for the implementation of the program Plant the Future in 2016. Arrangement of modern orchards on the area of 1 000 1 200 hectares and 30 40 new, modern nursery gardens are envisaged under the program Plant the Future. That will promote the process of import replacement in the market and the increase of export potential.
