New enterprise is set up by the support of state program
Investment in amount of 851 024 USD and one more new enterprise within the frameworks of United Agricultural Project. Today, the enterprise of freeze-dried fruit Gemuani was started in village Zeda Etseri by the Premier Minister of Georgia, Mr. Giorgi Kvirikashvili together with the Minister of Agriculture of Georgia, Mr. Levan Davitashvili. 22 tons of different species of freeze-dried fruits are annualy produced by the enterprise. There are 30 individuals employed in the enterprise. Production is sold at local market, as well as at export markets. Production is delivered to the enterprise by more than 150 small and medium farmers. The company is the beneficiary of the Program of co-financing of agricultural production processing and storage enterprises implemented within the frameworks of United Agricultural Project. In total 851 024 USD were invested to the enterprise, from here 250 000 USD is the grant and 484 512 USD preferential agricultural credit. In the nearest future the company plans to get ISO:22000 international standard by the support of USAID/REAP and Agricultural Projects Management Agency. Up to date, by the support of state programs 20 new enterprises were set up and 36 were expanded in Samegrelo region. Total investment of mentioned enterprises amounted up to 25 million dollars.
