For the development of agricultural sector it is very important to improve the existing system of agricultural insurance. I am sure we shall succeed through the cooperation of private and public sectors. In Georgia the state program of agricultural insurance has been implemented since 2014, consequently, we are at the initial stage and still much work is needed to achieve a desirable model of agricultural insurance in the country, which shall ensure support to agricultural activity, maintenance of income for those involved in the above mentioned activity and reduction of risks-stated the Vice-Minister of Agriculture Giorgi Chkheidze. It is notable that the Project on Funding of the Agricultural Chain Parties and Agricultural Insurance Support (PAFAI) has been implemented since 2015 through the funding of the representation of the South Caucasus of the Swiss Cooperation Office and its main goals are to provide accessibility of agricultural funding and agricultural insurance for the farmers and to support maintenance of their income.
