The Green Grant Program was implemented to facilitate access to energy-efficient/renewable energy technologies for rural area and the existing business sector, save energy costs, mitigate the impact of climate change, and reduce pressure on natural resources (especially forest resources).
The following energy-efficient/renewable energy technologies were funded under the program: thermal insulation, factory-made solar vacuum water heater, simple solar water heater, and air heater.
The program was implemented in the following municipalities of Georgia: Akhalkalaki, Borjomi, Dedoplistskaro, Kazbegi, Keda, Khulo, Lagodekh and Tetritskaro.
The green grant program was implemented with the support of the European Union (EU) and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) within the framework of the "European Neighborhood Program for Rural and Agricultural Development" (ENPARD) program in cooperation with the "Rural Development Agency" (RDA).
As of July 31, 2022, 106 agreements were signed with 106 unique beneficiaries within the framework of the Green Grant Program, the amount of investment amounted to 974,779 GEL, of which 669,078 GEL is co-financed by the agency specified in the agreement.
