A farmer from Baghdati region has bought agricultural equipment within the United AgroProject

Gocha Ivaneishvili, beneficiary of "Agro-Production Promotion Program", has cultivated a strawberry garden on 1.25 hectares of land in the village of Chincharauli in Bagdati municipality and purchased agricultural equipment within the United AgroProject. The total value of the project amounted to 91,475 GEL, with 54,941 GEL of which the beneficiary purchased 45,000 strawberry seedlings at his own cost and received a grant of 36,534 GEL for purchasing the equipment. Tornike Kapanadze, the Grant Project Manager of Agriculture Projects Management Agency, together with the representatives of local self-government has inspected the machinery purchased by farmers on site. "Agro-Production Support Program" is implemented by the Agricultural Projects Management Agency with the support of Agriculture Modernization, Market Access and Resilience Project (AMMAR). The program is funded by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and the Global Environment Facility (GEF). The co-financing of the agency under the program amounts to 40% of the total value of the project and the beneficiarys participation - 60%. Co-financing for the "Agro-Production Promotion Program" beneficiaries will be issued in two components: Primary production component - financing of individual farmers, commercial legal entities registered in Georgia and agriculture cooperatives. Component of processing enterprises - financing of active processing and storage enterprises and agricultural cooperatives.The Agricultural Projects Management Agency is implementing the United AgroProject within the program Produce in Georgia - Business which is intended for a long-term development and aims at creating such an environment which shall promote the enhancement of competitiveness in Agriculture, stable growth of production of high quality products and the establishment of international standards of food safety.
