New Storage Farm Is Opened in Mtskheta Region
Within the United AgroProject the agricultural products storage enterprise equipped according to the modern standards - Tserovani Aisi Ltd., was created in Mtskheta Region. It was opened by the Deputy Minister of Agriculture Mr. George Chkheidze along with Deputy Governor of Mtskheta-Mtianeti Mr. Beso Talakvadze and Agricultural Project Management Agency Director Mr. Mamuka Kvaratskhelia.
Annually, it will be possible to store simultaneously 300 tons of different vegetable cultures in Tserovani Aisi storage farm. 10 people are employed in the enterprise.
The company is a beneficiary of the Co-financing Project for Agricultural Production Processing and Storage Enterprises. In total, 520,670 US dollars was invested in the enterprises, where 208,268 US dollars is the grant and 260,335 US dollars the preferential agrocredit.
Noteworthy is that in 2018 the company plans to receive the HACCP international standard with the support of the Agricultural Project Management Agency and USAID/REAP. 30% from the cost of the international standard will be financed by the Agriculture Project Management Agency, 50% will be financed by USAID / REAP and the remaining 20% will be paid by the beneficiary.
Since 2013, the Agriculture Project Management Agency has been implementing various projects for creating new enterprises. Within the projects, preferential credits will be issued for the creation of new enterprises, as well as for the expansion of existing ones. At this stage, 10 new enterprises have been created in Mtskheta-Mtianeti Region and 9 enterprises have been expanded, and more than 750 active and 166 new enterprises have already been funded within the framework of the Unified AgroProject throughout Georgia.
The financial support provided by the state gives an additional push to the entrepreneurs for development and expansion. Within the framework of the Produce in Georgia Business program, the Agricultural Project Management Agency has been implementing the Unified AgroProject, which is designed for long-term development and its purpose is to create an environment that will promote competition in agriculture, stable growth of high quality products and introduction of the international food safety standards.
