New enterprise is opened in Samegrelo under the United Agroproject

Under the scopes of the United Agroproject, the Ltd. Megruli Tkhili has founded a storing and drying enterprise for agricultural products which is equipped under contemporary standards; the enterprise was opened by the Deputy Director of the Agricultural Projects Management Agency Giorgi Jibladze, Director of the Office of Economic Rise of the USAID Mission Veronika Lee and Governor of Samegrelo Region Alexandre Motserilia. The plant of the Ltd. Megruli Tkhili is located in the village Darcheli and will provide sorting, drying and storing of 1000 tons on an annual basis. The plant employs 16 persons. The Company is a beneficiary of the Project of co-financing of the enterprises dealing with processing and storing of agricultural products. Investment with a total amount of 862,440 was implemented in the enterprise, from where 344,976 lari represents a grant, and 116,528 lari is a preferential agrocredit. In addition to it, the Company also has received a financial aid from the Project of Development of nut sector in Georgia (G-HIP) supported by the AgriGeorgia/Ferrero and USAID. It is remarkable that in 2018 the Company was awarded with an international standard HACCP. Since the year of 2013, the Agricultural Projects Management Agency has already implemented different projects for the purpose of establishing of new enterprises. In scopes of the project, preferential loans are issued not only for establishing of new enterprises but for developing of the existing ones as well. On this stage, in Samegrelo region 22 enterprises has been established and on a national scale, in frames of the United Agriculture, 175 new enterprises have been received a financial aid. Financial aid assigned by the state to entrepreneurs provides them with additional impulse necessary for developing and widening of production. The Agricultural Projects Management Agency implements the United Agroproject which is designated for the long-termed development and is focused on creation of a type of environment which stimulates increasing of competitiveness in the agricultural sector, providing a stable rise in production of high quality products and implementation of international standards of food safety.
