Georgia's Independence Day is being celebrated across the country with various events organized by the Government Administration.

The Rural Development Agency of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture will celebrate Georgia's Independence Day on May 26 in the city of Rustavi with a diverse program of events at Freedom Square.

The event organized at Freedom Square in Rustavi is based on this year's unified concept for the May 26 celebrations — “For 1700 years, faith has strengthened us – love unites us,” which is connected to the 1700th anniversary of the declaration of Christianity as the state religion.

The event will begin at 1:00 PM. Guests will have the opportunity to explore products made by local entrepreneurs, attend a wine tasting and a culinary masterclass. The event will also feature a historical Rustavi pavilion where replicas of artifacts discovered in the city will be exhibited. An informational wall dedicated to the Rustavi floodplain forest will be set up, and the activity “Plant a Tree in Your Name” will be held.

A children's performance will take place. Throughout the day, local performers will appear on stage. A photo zone will also be arranged for taking commemorative photos.

At 5:10 PM, the historic time of Georgia’s declaration of independence will be marked by the performance of the national anthem. The event will conclude with a gala concert.

The ceremonial event at Freedom Square in Rustavi is organized by the Administration of the Government of Georgia, the Rural Development Agency of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, and the Rustavi City Hall.

The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture is the organizer of Independence Day events in the cities of Rustavi, Poti, and Ambrolauri.
