A delegation from the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia visited Croatia and Serbia.
The delegation members familiarized themselves with the experiences of the Paying Agencies of Croatia and Serbia. This visit was one of the planned activities in the institutional reform process of the Rural Development Agency, transforming it into a Paying Agency.
During the visit, meetings were held at the Ministry of Agriculture of Croatia and the Paying Agency. The delegation members learned about the specific workings of the Ministry of Agriculture and the Paying Agency of an EU member state. In Serbia's Paying Agency, they received information about the specifics of the EU IPARD (Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance in Rural Development) in countries in the process of EU accession.
Meetings were held with beneficiaries who received financial assistance from the Paying Agencies in Croatia and Serbia. In Serbia, during a meeting at the company Biosence, which operates in the field of digital agriculture, delegation members were shared experiences regarding the management and use of agricultural land management systems LPIS/IACS.
The delegation included representatives from the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, the Rural Development Agency, the Agricultural Scientific-Research Center, the National Agency for Sustainable Land Management and Land Use Monitoring, and the United Nations Development Program.
The visit of the delegation from the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia was supported by the United Nations Development Program.
