15 fruit processing enterprises in different regions of Georgia accept non-standard apples

From September 9 to November 25 of the current year, 15 fruit processing enterprises involved in the state program accepted more than 34,000 tons of non-standard apples. As a result, farmers received income of more than 10 million GEL, the state subsidy amounts to approximately more than 3 million GEL.

Within the framework of the program to promote the sale of non-standard apple crops, in case of the purchase of non-standard apples, state subsidies are received by fruit processing companies that purchase 1 kg of non-standard apples from individuals employed in the fruit growing sector for at least 27 tetri by December 15, 2025; the Rural Development Agency will provide a subsidy of 10 tetri per kg of non-standard apples.

Within the framework of the state program, non-standard apples are collected by fruit processing enterprises in Shida Kartli, Kakheti, Samtskhe-Javakheti, Mtskheta-Mtianeti and Racha-Lechkhumi in the Lower Svaneti region.

In order to ensure the organized collection of non-standard apples, a coordination headquarters is functioning by decision of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture.
