Presentation of the pilot program conducted in the region of Shida Kartli
Rural Development Agency, with support of United Nations Development Project (UNDP) implements the program "Expansion of early warning system of multilateral threats and use of climate-related information in Georgia".
The program implies supply of the agro recommendations developed with consideration of weather for major agricultural crops producers spread in Kakheti and Shida Kartli.
At the event held with regard to start of the project in the region of Shida Kartli were attended the director of Rural Development Agency Davit Tsitladze and national coordinator of early warning system project of United Nations Development Project (UNDP) – Ketevan Skhireli.
Presentation of the digital platform created by the GECSA system for agro-meteorological services and the presentation of the preliminary results of the ongoing basic research within the program were held.
Representatives of the National Environment Agency, National Food Agency and the Scientific-Research Center made presentations with regard to their participation in the program.
Agro recommendations within the program will be available from Autamn of 2024.
The project "Expansion of early warning system of multilateral threats and use of climate-related information in Georgia" is implemented with support of the Green Climate Fund (GCF) and the governments of Georgia, Sweden and Switzerland.
