As of today, 13 fruit-processing enterprises participating in the state program have received up to 4,000 tons of non-standard apples. Farmers have earned more than 1 million GEL in income
The Industrial Apple Sale Promotion Program was launched on September 9 of this year to support farmers during the apple harvest storage process.
Within the program, fruit-processing companies receive a state subsidy when purchasing non-standard apples. Any company that buys at least 1 kg of non-standard apples for no less than 0.27 GEL by December 15, 2025, will receive a subsidy of 0.10 GEL per kilogram from the Rural Development Agency.
Fruit-processing enterprises in the regions of Shida Kartli, Kvemo Kartli, Kakheti, Samtskhe-Javakheti, Mtskheta-Mtianeti, and Racha-Lechkhumi-Kvemo Svaneti are accepting non-standard apples under the state program.
To ensure the organized collection of non-standard apples, a coordination headquarters operates by decision of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture.
