Over 21,700 tons of apple was processed within the frameworks of state program for support of realization of nonstandard apple

Mr. Tengiz Nasaridze, the Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, and Mr. Mikheil Shakulashvili, the State Representative in Shida Kartli, received the report on the results of state program for support of realization of nonstandard apples at the Coordinating Body.

In the terms of the state program, nonstandard apples were delivered to more than 12 fruit processing enterprises of Shida Kartli, Kakheti, Mtskheta-Mtianeti, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti regions. Over 21,700 tons of nonstandard apples were received by the fruit processing enterprises involved in the program. 7 million GEL of income was received by farmers, including the state subsidy exceeding 2 million GEL. The program was completed on December 15.

Deputy Minister visited the enterprise of the LLC “Biojuice” involved in the program and met with local farmers. 

In the terms of the state program, the amount of subsidy per 1 kg nonstandard apple amounted to 10 tetri. Every fruit processing enterprise, purchasing 1 kg of nonstandard apples for at least 24 Tetri from natural persons employed in fruit business, had the opportunity to participate in state program.
