New Storage Facility Is Launched in Kvemo Kartli Region within the framework of the United Agroproject
In Bolnisi Municipality, the new cold storage facility of the agricultural cooperative Gio was launched within the framework of the United Agroproject with the financial support of the state. The investments in the enterprise, equipped according to the modern standards, amounted more than 1 million GEL in total, including a grant of 510,000 GEL and 500,000 GEL a preferential agro-credit. The cold storage facility can accommodate up to 800 tons of vegetables. The cooperative plans to sell its products in the local market. More than 50 locals are employed at the cooperative enterprise.
Ilia Tamarashvili, Director of the Agricultural and Rural Development Agency, visited the new enterprise together with Kakha Koberidze, Deputy State Attorney - Governor in the Kvemo Kartli Region.
The amount invested in the cooperative enterprise exceeds 1 million GEL. The financial support of the state, which in this case includes preferential agrocredit and grant, creates a real opportunity for the implementation of such projects, - stated Ilia Tamarashvili.
According to Kakha Koberidze, Deputy State Attorney - Governor in the Kvemo Kartli Region, the existence of such enterprises is important for the economic strengthening of the region.
Since 2013 until now, 27 new enterprises have been financed in Kvemo Kartli Region with the assistance of the state within the framework of the United Agro Project. The financial support of the state has boosted entrepreneurs to develop and expand production.
The United Agroproject implemented by the Agricultural and Rural Development Agency, is designed for long-term development and aims to create an environment that will promote competitiveness in agriculture, stable growth of high quality products, introduction of international food safety standards.
