New milk processing plant has been launched in the Kvemo Kartli region within the framework of the United Agroproject
A new milk processing plant has been put into operation in village Gumbati, Tsalka Municipality. Processing plant equipped with modern standards was established by individual entrepreneur Valeri Kakhadze by financial support of the state within the frameworks of United AgroProject. In total. Up to 500 000 GEL was invested into the plant, 170 000 GEL of which was the preferential agrocredit and remained sum is the investment of beneficiary and international organization Mercycorp.
Ilia Tamarashvili, the Director of Agricultural and Rural Development Agency togethwr with Shota Rekhviashvili, the Regional Governor of Kvemo Kartli region visited the plant and got familiarized with manufacturing process.
Approximately 7-8 tons of milk is processed by the plant per day and three types of cheese are produced by the plant: factory, Sulguni and Imeruli. 24 persons are employed at processing plant. Realization of product is envisaged for the local market.
IT should be noted that since 2013 up to date, by the support of the state 23 new enterprises were established in Kvemo Kartli region within the frameworks of United AgroPRoject. State financial support has encouraged the entrepreneurs for further development and expansion of production.
