Under the Framework of the Unified AgroProject, the Farmer in Khviti Village Bought Machinery and Equipment project
Within the framework of the Unified AgroProject, beneficiary Giorgi Basilidze received 17,928 GEL of financing for purchase of a new tractor, mulching and spraying equipment for the farm located in 5.2 hectares of land in the village of Khviti in Gori district.
Giorgi Basiladze has planted an apple garden on 3.5 hectares of land and is growing tomatoes on 1.7 ha of land.
Tornike Kapanadze, the Project Manager of Agriculture Projects Management Agency, Kakha Samkharadze, the governor of Shida Kartli region and local self-government representatives visited the agriculture machine and equipment purchased by the farmer at the place.
The Agro-Production Support Program is implemented by the Agriculture Projects Management Agency with the support of the Agricultural Modernization, Market Access and Resilience (AMMAR) project.
The program is funded by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and the Global Environment Fund (GEF).
The co-financing of the Agency envisaged by the program constitutes 40% of the total value of the presented project and the beneficiarys participation - 60%.
Co-financing for the beneficiaries of the Agro-Production Program will be financed in two components:
Primary production component - financing of individual farmers, commercial legal entities registered in Georgia and agriculture cooperatives.
Processing enterprise component - financing of operating processing and storage enterprises and agricultural cooperatives.
Within the framework of the Produce in Georgia Business| program, the Agricultural Project Management Agency is implementing the Unified AgroProject, which is designed for long-term development and its purpose is to create an environment that will promote competition in agriculture, stable growth of high quality products and introduction of the international food safety standards.
