Plastic processing enterprise was launched in Dedoplistskaro municipality by the support of the Rural Development Program
Plastic processing enterprise of the Company “Ekospartaneli” was launched in Dedoplistskaro municipality. The amount of investment for enterprise establishment amounted to more than 209,000 GEL, including 145,000 GEL of co-financing of the Rural Development Program.
Mrs. Natalia Kharatishvili, the Deputy Director of Rural Development Agency, Mr. Giorgi Aladashvili, the State Representative of Kakheti region, Mr. Nikoloz Janiashvili, the Mayor of Dedoplistskaro municipality and Mr. Giorgi Tsimintia, Coordination Officer of United Nations Development Program for Improvement of Rural Development, got acquainted with the ongoing work in the newly opened enterprise.
“New enterprise was launched within the scopes of Rural Development Program, the enterprise has the possibility for processing of plastic and waste paper up to 100 tons. The company collects the waste paper and plastic bottles from population. It should be noted that this is the first enterprise in the region in mentioned field, with about 10 people employed” – stated Mrs. Natalia Kharatishvili, the Deputy Director of Rural Development Agency.
Mr. Giorgi Tsimintia, Coordination Officer of United Nations Development Program for “Improvement of Rural Development in Georgia”, stated that European Union and United Nations Development Program have been working in direction of the rural development in Georgia for many years.
“It is important for us to promote the local economic growth. Its is especially important to support the similar project because it reduces the negative impacts on the environment” – Mr. Giorgi Tsimintia said.
The Rural Development Program was implemented in Keda, Khulo, Borjomi, Akhalkalaki, Tetritskaro, Kazbegi, Lagodekhi and Dedoplistskaro municipalities.
The Rural Development Program was implemented by the Rural Development Agency by the support of European Union and UNDP, within the scopes of “European Neighborhood Program for Agriculture and Rural Development” (ENPARD)”.
Within the framework of the rural development program, 77 projects have been financed, the total investment value exceeds 11 million GEL, co-financing exceeds 7.8 million GEL.
