New Farm Opening in Kvemo Kartli Region with the Support of RDA
A cattle farm equipped in compliance with modern standards, was built by Anar Sadikov, with the financial support of the state, in the Village Damia Geurarkh, Marneuli Municipality. Up to 2 million lari was spent on the construction of the farm, wherefrom 1.5 million lari is a preferential agro-credit, the rest is a farmers investment. The new farm produces 4 tons of raw milk daily. Products are sold on the local market; 20 local men are employed at the farm.
Ilia Tamarashvili, the Director of the Rural Development Agency, and Shota Rekhviashvili, the Governor of Kvemo Kartli Region, visited the new cattle farm and made inquires about the working process.
The Rural Development Agency suggest co-financing of loan interests to the individuals that are involved in the agricultural activities, within the framework of the state project of preferential agro-credit. The financial support provided by the state enables the farmers to launch business and develop it, said Ilia Tamarashvili, the Director of the Rural Development Agency.
As Shota Rekhviashvili, the Governor of Region, marked out, the new farm built in the Village Damia Geurarkh, is just one more example of great opportunities that are provided by state projects in agriculture and economy sector.
In total, more than 7 thousand loans of more than 308 million lari have been issued within the scope of preferential agro-credit project, in Kvemo Kartli region. The co-financing issued by the Agency amounted to more than 47 million lari.
The state project of preferential agro-credit, which has been implemented since 2013, enables individuals that are involved in agriculture to start and develop agrobusiness with low-cost and affordable cash funds.
