Working meeting was held on strengthening the capacity of the Regional Services and Information Consulting Centers of the Rural Development Agency.

The main challenges and achievements of agricultural extension were discussed at the meeting. Representatives of the regional services presented a brief overview of the activities as thematic presentations.

The event heard the phased results of UNDP Regional VET project support activities, including a small grant component, and the presentation of the FAO of the Agricultural Organization on the renewal of the extension strategy.

The working meeting was attended by the representatives of the Rural Development Agency, the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).

The event was supported by the second phase of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) project Modernization of Vocational Education and Extension Systems in Agriculture in Georgia, as well as the financial support from the Swiss Cooperation Office in the South Caucasus (SDC), aiming at increasing the incomes of rural farmers and raising their standard of living.
