A New greenhouse facility has been arranged in Imereti region
New greenhouse facility was arranged in the village of Tobanieri, in Vani municipality. The Greenhouse facility "Spartak" equipped with modern standards was established within the framework of the "United AgroProject" with the financial support of the state. In total 780,000 GEL was invested in the greenhouse facility, 312,000 GEL of which was a grant. Tornike Kapanadze, the Grant Manager of Agricultural Projects Management Agency, opened the greenhouse facility with Shallego Tabatadze, the Governor of Imereti and the representatives of local self-government.
The Greenhouse facility produces 115 tons of vegetables per year. The realization of the product is considered on the local market; 22 people are employed in the enterprise. The Program of agro-production promotion is implemented within the framework of the Agriculture Modernization, Market access and Resilience project(AMMAR) with the support of Agricultural Projects Management Agency.
The program is funded by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and the Global Environment Facility (GEF). The co-financing of the Agency under the program amounts to 40% of the total cost of the project, and the co-participation of the beneficiary amounts to 60%. Since the beginning of the project, 363 beneficiaries received funding, and the amount of co-financing by the state amounted to 6,903,146 GEL.
It is worth noting that since 2013 the financial support of the state has encouraged the entrepreneurs for the development and expansion of their production. Agricultural Project Management Agency is implementing the "United AgroProject", which is intended for a long-term development and aims at creating such an environment which shall promote the enhancement of competitiveness in Agriculture, stable growth of production of high quality products and the establishment of international standards of food safety.
