A new storage enterprise has been established in Mtskheta region within the United AgroProject

Within the framework of the "United AgroProject", the agricultural products storage enterprise equipped with modern standards has been established by "Khichateli" Ltd. Giorgi Khanishvili, the Deputy Minister of Agriculture, opened the enterprise with Shalva Kereselidze, the Governor of Mtskheta-Mtianeti and Paata Shekeladze, Director of Agriculture Projects Management Agency. 910 tons of fruit can be placed annually at "Khichateli" cold storage. 15 people are employed in the enterprise. The company is a beneficiary of the project of "Co-financing of Agro Processing and Storage Enterprises". In total, 1,558,000 GEL was invested in the enterprise, 600,000 GEL of which is a grant and 779,000 GEL comes from preferential agrocredit. It is worth noting that in 2019 the company plans to obtain the HACCP international standard with the support of the Agriculture Projects Management Agency. Part of the total value of the international standard will be financed by the Agriculture Projects Management Agency. Since 2013, the Agriculture Projects Management Agency is implementing various projects for creating new enterprises. Within the projects, preferential loans will be issued for the creation of new enterprises, as well as for the expansion of existing ones. At this stage, 11 new enterprises were created in the Mtskheta-Mtianeti region and 19 enterprises were expanded, while more than 840 active and 185 new enterprises have already been funded within the "United AgroProject" throughout Georgia. The financial support of the state has encouraged the entrepreneurs for the development and expansion of their production. Agricultural Project Management Agency is implementing the "United AgroProject", which is intended for a long-term development and aims at creating such an environment which shall promote the enhancement of competitiveness in Agriculture, stable growth of production of high quality products and the establishment of international standards of food safety.
