Meeting with the representatives of self-governments of each region of Georgia are held by the decision of the Ministry of Environment and Agriculture of Georgia.

Regular regional meeting with the representatives of the self-government of Akhaltsikhe was held.

Welcoming speech was delivered to representatives by Shalva Berdzenishvili, the first deputy of State Attorney Governor of Samtskhe-Javakheti region and Otar Shamugia, First Deputy Head of Agricultural and Rural Development Agency of Georgia.

Number of important projects are implemented by the Ministry of Environment and Agriculture of Georgia through its agencies, different agricultural sectors are developed within the region, amongst them the Samtskhe-Javakheti region holds the first place by the number of agricultural cooperatives and cooperative enterprises. In order to increase the awareness of local population with regard to the programs and services available for development of rural and agricultural field the involvement of local government is of great importance, Otar Shamugia said.

Presentations on ongoing and planned projects were provided at the meeting by the representatives of relevant agencies of the Ministry of Environment and Agriculture of Georgia.

The mechanisms of increase of availability om information about accomplished, ongoing and planned programs and services were discussed at the meeting by the representatives of the Ministry and agencies subordinated to the Ministry.

The meeting is organized by the Agency of the Ministry - Agricultural and Rural Development Agency of Georgia.
