Farmers can buy an agrodrone and a weather station with a preferential agro-credit
According to the decision taken at the meeting of the Government of Georgia, changes were made to the preferential agro-credit project. According to the changes, modern technologies become available to farmers. With a preferential agro-loan, it is possible to purchase an agricultural aerial vehicle (agrodrone) and a weather station for an agricultural object.
As part of the subsidized agro-credit facility, interested farmers can purchase agro-drones that will have spraying as well as scanning functions for agronomic purposes. The state will finance the loan to the farmer for 48 months in the amount of 11% per annum. The loan amount is from 20,000 GEL to 1,500,000 GEL. The same condition applies in the case of setting up weather stations. Through the weather station in their farms, farmers will be able to predict the climate, prevent threats caused by pests and diseases, as well as collect data necessary for planning various agricultural works.
In order to overcome the modern challenges in agriculture, the use of smart agricultural technologies and approaches is becoming more relevant in order to get more results, to increase productivity, both quantitatively and qualitatively, with lower costs. Using the mentioned approaches, it becomes possible for agricultural products produced in Georgia to be highly competitive both on local and international markets; More income should be created in the agricultural sector and the development process of the sector should be based on the principles of sustainability.
