Deputy of the director of Rural Development Agency - Natalia Kharatishvili and deputy of the State Attorney of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - Davit Verava saw the blue blueberries garden and refrigerated farming of the beneficiary company "Golden Farms" of Rural Development Agency in the village Khorga. 

In 2020, the company “Golden Farms” received co-financing with the amount of 250,000 Gel within the program “plant the future” for planting a modern garden of blueberries and arrangement of the irrigating system on 16 hectares, and agro-loan received within the preferential agro-credit was 850,000 Gel. The company invested 3.5 million Gel for arrangement of the refrigirated farming equipped with the modern standards, including a grant of Rural Development Agency 500,000 Gel and 1,2 millions Gel – preferential agro-credit. The refrigerated farming has ability to store 250 Tone of blue blueberries. In the company are employed 10 local persons.  

"The state supports to the development of the blue blueberry sector as in terms of primary production as well storage and sale. Within the program "plant the future", blue blueberries gardens were planted on 2,500 hectares in Georgia, from which 1,500 hectares were in the region of Samegrelo, in which co-financing from the state was 27 millions Gel, noted the deputy of the director of Rural Development Agency - Natalia Kharatishvili.

Based on the statement of the director of the company “Golden Farms” – Davit Labartkava, the garden will fully yielding in two years; In the current year, the company has implemented export of blue blueberries up to 30 tone in the countries of Gulf, in China, Germany and Poland.  

Should be mentioned, that across Georgia, a preferential agro-credit issued with the purpose of planting of blue blueberries exceeds to 127,9 millions Gel, in which subsidize of the loan interest is implemented by Rural Development Agency in the amount of 16,6 millions.  Including, with the purpose of planting of blue blueberries in the region of Samegrelo is issued more than 69 million Gel, co-financing of Rural Development Agency exceeds to 9,8 million Gel.
