The new fruit processing plant was launched in Tsnori
With the financial support of the state, Badagi Plus Ltd built a fruit processing plant equipped with modern standards in the village of Tsnori. A total of GEL 877,000 was invested in the construction of the plant, out of which the beneficiaries received GEL 438,000 preferential agro credit and GEL 350,000 a state grant. In 2020 the state shall assist the plant in implementation of the international standard on food safety - ISO: 22000.
The Badagi Plus Ltd produces an average of 11,000kg of dried fruits andfruit leather per year. The company employs 10 locals.Ilia Tamarashvili, the new Head of the Agriculture and Rural Development Agency, had tour around the fruit processing plant with the Deputy Governor of Kakheti Region GiviMetreveli and the representatives of local self-government; the visitors got acquainted with the production process.
"In the chain of values of agriculture, a significant part is occupied by the processing infrastructure; the Agency is implementing and will continue to co-finance the farmers in the future in this direction," Ilia Tamarashvili said.It is noteworthy that with the financial support of the state, 74 new enterprises were opened in the Kakheti region within the framework of the United Agroproject, including grape, milk and fruit processing enterprises.
Agriculture and Rural Development Agency implements the United Agroproject, which is designed for long-term development and aims to create an environment conducive to increasing competitiveness in agriculture, steady growth of high-quality production and implementation of international food safety standards.
