The director of the Rural Development Agency met with winemaking farmers, interested in organic production
At the meeting, the details of the bioproduction promotion program were introduced to the winegrowers, whose farms are in the process of transitioning from non-organic farming to organic farming.
"Taking into account the fact that the demand for organic products is growing both in the local and export markets, we are implementing the state program for the promotion of bioproduction. The program envisages special conditions for winemaking and beekeeping. We have introduced the targeted program to both beginners and winegrowers in the process of certification so that they have detailed information and receive the benefits offered by the state," said Ilia Tamarashvili, director of the Rural Development Agency.
Under the program for the promotion of organic production, the remuneration of the Rural Development Agency for growers, calculated per 1 ha, is determined by no more than 70%, no more than 5100 GEL, and if the source of participation for the potential beneficiary is the funding received from the donor organization, it is no more than 40%, no more than 2900 GEL. Within the framework of the program, the expenses incurred will be reimbursed by recalculation for no more than 5 ha.
The program for the promotion of organic production envisages the transition from non-organic farming to organic farming, in particular, the reimbursement of the cost of certification of organic production, consulting services, the purchase of organic fertilizers and/or biopreparations for use against pests and diseases, the purchase of bee treatment biopreparations and biosilk, as well as laboratory analysis services for the production of honey and wax.
