InformationalMeeting Held on Imereti Agrozone Greenhouse Cluster Development Project
In Tskaltubo Municipality, Archil Bukia, Director of Imereti Agrozone, informed the local farmers and stakeholders about the Invitation for Expression of Interest announced on the Greenhouse Cluster Development Project and provided detailed information about the project.
The meeting was attended by the First Deputy Minister of Environment Protection and Agriculture Giorgi Khanishvili, the State Representative in Imereti Zviad Shalamberidze and the Mayor of Tskaltubo Municipality Grigol Ioseliani.
By implementing the Imereti Agrozone project, we will create a unique model in the country, where products of modern standards will be produced within a single cluster,- stated Giorgi Khanishvili, First Deputy Minister of Environment and Agriculture.
According to the State Representative in Imereti Zviad Shalamberidze, the implementation of the project will enable entrepreneurs and farmers to share European knowledge and experience, which will be used in the production process.
Imereti Agrozone Ltd. (IAZ) will receive proposals from the parties interested in the Expression of Interest (EOI) from March 1 to April 30, 2021.
The 220-hectare Imereti Agrozone Greenhouse Cluster offers international and local stakeholders the opportunity to invest in high-, medium- and low-tech greenhouses, logistics and sales center, processing plants and other auxiliary activities.
The Government of Georgia has allocated 220 hectares of land in Tskaltubo and Baghdati municipalities for the implementation of the Imereti Agrozone Greenhouse Cluster Development Project.
Work on the project initiated by the Ministry started a year ago, in February 2020. The aide to the Imereti Agrozone Greenhouse Cluster Development Project is the Georgian-Dutch Consulting Consortium - GeoHolding KSH Consortium selected on the basis of an international competition.
