Programs supporting development of the agricultural cooperatives
According to the amendment, 90% co-financing (not more than GEL 150,000) for dairy farms operating throughout Georgia with the agriculture status isenvisaged for the purchase of procurement of dairy processing machinery, if the total number of cows / sheep (ewes) / goats (nanny goats) owned by the agricultural cooperative and/or its member and/or the members of the agricultural cooperative members respectively amounts not less than 150/1000/200 souls.
By the same amendment, agricultural cooperatives registered in highland settlementsfor the purchase of dairy processing machinerymay receive 95% co-financing, not exceeding GEL 150,000, provided that the number of cows owned by such agricultural cooperative and/or its member and/or the members of the agricultural cooperative members is more than 50 in total.
Since the beginning of the programtill now 24 cooperatives have been funded throughout Georgia under the state program for support of dairy farming cooperatives. State co-financing amounted to GEL 2,031,604.
The Agriculture and Rural Development Agency of the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture implements a state program for dairy farmer cooperatives that assists in the purchase of industrial machinery.
