Family Tradition turning into a Family Business
Givi Ninidze is from Guria, Vakijvari Village. He has a wife and 2 children. He had not left his native Guria and was faithfully serving as a doctor in the local hospital.
From a young age, he dreamed of producing honey and was waiting for a convenient time.
He learned about “Preferential Agro Credit” from TV advertising and firmly decided to transform a family tradition into a family business. As he said his great-grandfather was producing honey.
According to him beekeeping is a noble thing. The most important thing is help bees to breed, and then they create wealth by their own labor, the same is for small business, assistance is necessary. The state has provided assistance and now he's ready to bring Georgian honey of unique properties to the European market.
He hopes for success and is proud that he has restored grandfather's tradition and realized his dream, which as he says "without Preferential Agro Credit Project would be possible only on a smaller scale and after 6-7 years.”
Givi loves his region and says that Guria is the first region in Georgia, where there is artificial insemination station of queen bees. For the achievement of his goal, he took advantage of Preferential Agro Credit in 2013 and invested USD 35,000 in his business, of which 30,000 was Preferential Agro Credit.
After the New Year, Givi Ninidze is planning to take part in another Project - "Co-Financing of Processing and Storage Enterprises" initiated by the Ministry of Agriculture and open honey bottling / packing plant. Thus he will be able to produce and sell more honey, and the most important thing is that the ancestors’ tradition will be revived and passed on to the next generation.
