Minister visited the intensive apple garden
Ltd. Tiriponi Bagebi has planted a fruit intensive garden in Gori District, village Kvarkheti, under the state project Plant the Future. The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture Levan Davitashvili, the Governor of Shida-Kartli Giorgi Khojevanishvili, inspected intensive gardens and got acquainted with the process of care (mechanical pruning, underground cutting of roots, sprouting of hail protective net.
New gardens constructed in Kvarkheti confirm that our politics in direction of development of agriculture is correct. We want to receive competitive, contemporary gardens, which will take their own position on the market of manufactured products. Using contemporary technologies a high quality of harvest was received in Tiriponi Bagebi, - stated Levan Davitashvili. Tiriponi Bagebi was involved in the project in 2015 and received a co-funding equal to 100,000 lari from the state for construction of the apple intensive garden on 27 ha land plot. The company applied a preferential agricultural credit and a loan equal to 2,000,000 lari for installation of hail protective nets, pillars, irrigation systems. For construction of gardens, a total investment equal to 4,700,000 lari was implemented. This year the first harvest of apples will be received.
According to the Governor of Shida Kartli Giorgi Khojevanishvili, the agricultural sector complied with international standards is one of the key direction assisting to the state in development of its economics. It is remarkable, that Tiriponi Bagebi is the first company which, in scopes of the state program, was awarded with the primary production international certificate of the Global Cap.
As of 31st of July, 2018, in frames of the project Plant the Future, on a national scale, construction of new fruit gardens on 5,546 ha has been financed; an amount of the state funding makes up 29,304,613 lari. From this amount, in the Shida Kartli region construction of fruit gardens was co-financed on 1,674 ha land plot.
