New meat processing enterprise was opened in Racha region within the framework of the Unified Agroproject
A new meat processing Enterprise has been opened in the Ambrolauri municipality. The new enterprise - "Rachuli Lori" (Bacon from Racha) equipped with modern standards was established within the framework of the "United AgroProject" under the financial support of the state. In total 762,900 GEL was invested in the enterprise, 323,876 GEL of which is a grant and 358,024 GEL - preferential agrocredit.
Revaz Asatiani, the Director of Agriculture Projects Management Agency, along with the Deputy Governor of Racha Giorgi Gonadze, visited the plant and inspected the manufacturing process at the site.
The plant shall produce more than 29 tons of pork per year. The product shall be realized in the local market and may be exported as well in the future. 14 people are employed in the processing plant. With the support of Agricultural Projects Management Agency, International Standards for Food Safety - ISO 22:000 was introduced in the company.
It must be noted that since 2013 to the present, the establishment of up to 180 new enterprises have been financed under the "United AgroProject". State financial support has encouraged the entrepreneurs for further development and expansion of production.
The Agricultural Projects Management Agency is implementing the United AgroProject within the program Produce in Georgia - Business which is intended for a long-term development and aims at creating such an environment which shall promote the enhancement of competitiveness in Agriculture, stable growth of production of high quality products and the establishment of international standards of food safety.
