Agro-Cards distribution continues in Samtskhe-Javakheti region

Mr. Ilia Tamarashvili, Director of the Agricultural and Rural Development Agency, together with Mr. Shalva Berdzenishvili, Deputy Governor of the Samtskhe-Javakheti Region, got acquainted with the process of distributing agro-cards in Samtskhe-Javakheti region within the framework of the agricultural anti-crisis plan.

"The process of distributing agro-cards is active and underway. With the scores accrued the farmers have the opportunity to carry out agricultural activities at a lower cost, without hindrance, said Mr. Ilia Tamarashvili.

According to Mr. Shalva Berdzenishvili, Deputy Governor of Samtskhe-Javakheti Region, farmers in Samtskhe-Javakheti region are actively involved in the program.

The accrual of scores envisaged by the state program "Stimulation of Agricultural Land Owners" for the beneficiaries with the active accounts at the Liberty Bank and distribution of agro-cards is being carried out in stages. Farmers can buy agricultural goods in specialized shops with the accrued scores.

Before arriving at the bank, farmers must verify their participation in the program and the accrued scores on the web portal - myliberty.ge, and during the visit to the bank, they must have their ID cards.

In order to receive the subsidy provided by the program, individuals and legal entities need to own from 0.25 to 10 ha of agricultural land registered in the Public Registry. The amount of the subsidy was determined to be 200 scores accrued to the agro-card for 1 hectare of land. Landowners and co-owners of the land plots from 1,25 to 10 hectares can receive plowing services at the service centers of the Agricultural Logistics and Services Company. The cost of plowing services is 150 points per 1 ha accrued to the agro-card.

Beneficiaries of the program will be able to withdraw the accrued agro-scores until May 20, 2021. More than 200,000 farmers will benefit from the state program "Stimulation of Agricultural Land Owners". The budget of the program is 37 million GEL.
