By selling non-standard apples, farmers received 17.7 million GEL income

Fruit processing enterprises involved in the state program received more than 73 thousand tons of non-standard apples. As a result, farmers received an income of more than 17.7 million GEL, the state subsidy exceeded 7 million GEL.

The state program for promoting the sale of non-standard apples was launched in September of this year, to support farmers in harvesting. According to the decision of the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture, the coordination headquarters was functioning to ensure the organized delivery of non-standard apples.

Within the framework of the state program, the subsidy was 10 tetri per 1 kg of non-standard apples. All those fruit processing enterprises that bought 1 kg of non-standard apples from individuals employed in the field of fruit growing for at least 24 whites could participate in the program.

Within the framework of the state program, 15 fruit processing enterprises from Shida Kartli, Kvemo Kartli, Kakheti, Mtskheta-Mtianeti and Racha-Lechkhumi regions called for non-standard apples.
