Otar Shamugia Visited the "Geo Flower" Enterprise in Akhaltsikhe
The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Otar Shamugia, together with the State Representative of Samtskhe-Javakheti, Besik Amiranashvili, and the Deputy Director of the Rural Development Agency, Natalia Kharatishvili, visited the "Geo Flower" fruit and medicinal plant processing enterprise in the village of Klde, Akhaltsikhe Municipality.
"Geo Flower" LLC is a beneficiary of the Rural Development Agency. The company benefits from the "Preferential Agrocredit" project and was involved in the program supporting the sale of non-standard apple harvest last year.
The enterprise in the village of Klde, Akhaltsikhe Municipality, has the capacity to dry and process 2 tons of medicinal herbs and 5 tons of fruit tea daily. The enterprise has implemented the ISO 22000 food safety management system. The plant, which employs 200 people seasonally and 40 people permanently, exports its products mainly to EU countries and Turkey under the brand "Monti."
Notably, within the framework of the preferential agrocredit, a small solar power plant was established at the enterprise last year, and the generated energy is used within the enterprise.
"Geo Flower" also owns a plant in Ambrolauri Municipality.
As part of the preferential agrocredit project, for the purpose of creating and developing processing enterprises, banks have issued 3,227 loans worth more than 1 billion GEL across Georgia, with co-financing from the Rural Development Agency exceeding 218 million GEL. Among these, banks in the Samtskhe-Javakheti region have issued 213 loans worth 26 million GEL, with co-financing from the Rural Development Agency exceeding 6 million GEL.
