The process of a digital platform for weather-sensitive agricultural work recommendations for farmers continues

The presentation of the initial version of the prototype of the digital agro-platform was held at the meeting of the working group of the program "Expansion of the early warning system of multilateral threats and the use of climate-related information in Georgia". The first deputy director of the Rural Development Agency Giorgi Phantsulaia and the deputy director Giorgi Jibladze attended the meeting.

International consultant Kwang-Hyun Kim presented an initial version of the prototype of GECSA's web-based digital agro platform to the members of the working group.

The platform, the test version of which will be available from the fall of 2024, will provide farmers with recommendations on the implementation of agro-operations, taking into account the expected weather.

Recommendations on agricultural operations to be carried out will be sent from the target regions of the program, Kakheti and Shida Kartli, to producers of selected crops, namely apple, grape, peach and nectarine, wheat, corn, to ensure quantitative and qualitative growth of agricultural products.

Representatives of the Rural Development Agency, the National Food Agency and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) attended the meeting of the program's working group.

This program is a part of the project "Reducing the risk of disasters caused by climate change in Georgia", which is implemented by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), with the support of the Green Climate Fund (GCF), the governments of Georgia, Sweden and Switzerland.
