The state will implement a co-financing program for vegetable storage enterprises
Vegetable production in recent years has increased by 15% and amounted to 176.1 thousand tons. Currently, the bulk of vegetable imports are in the off-season, which is due to the lack of necessary infrastructure, modern standards and technologies, refrigeration facilities for storing vegetables grown in the season. It is with this in mind that we launched a state program to co-finance vegetable storage facilities for agricultural cooperatives. Co-financing will ensure the storage of crops and the development of the necessary infrastructure in accordance with international standards, - said Otar Shamugia, Minister of Environment and Agriculture, speaking in Parliament in the format of Ministers Hour.
The State Program Co-financing of Storage Enterprises for Agricultural Cooperatives of the Agricultural and Rural Development Agency provides co-financing for the storage and refrigeration infrastructure, which will be provided only for the storage of vegetables and potatoes. The amount of co-financing of storage capacities of 500 tons is not more than 80% of its total cost, not more than GEL 450,000.
