New meat processing enterprise in Khakheti region
A meat processing enterprise started its operation in Dedoplistskaro Municipality. The enterprise equipped under the contemporary standards, - Ltd. Geonaturals, was established with a support of the government, mainly in frames of the United Agroproject. Financial aid was provided in scopes of the Project of co-financing of agricultural products processing and storing enterprises.
Total amount of 380,660 USD dollars was invested in the enterprise, from which 190,300 USD dollars were covered by the preferential agrocredit, and 152,300 USD dollars represented a grant issued by the government. The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture Levan Davitashvili, the first Deputy Governor of Kakheti Region Irakli Shioshvili and Advisor of the Prime Minister in the issues of regional issues Sozar Subari visited the enterprise.
Processing of more than 100 tons of different kinds of meat tins per year is scheduled in the enterprise. On the first stage, the products will be sold on the local market. Following this stage, exporting of meat is planned. The enterprise has 20 constant employees. The enterprise produces 4 different kinds of tins under the brand name Sadili (Sadili in Georgian). The Company, under a support of the Agricultural Projects Management Agency, has already implemented the food safety international standard ISO 22 0000. Financial aid of the government gave an additional impulse to entrepreneurs for developing and widening of the production. Since the year of 2013 till now, under support of the Government, in frames of the United Agroproject 173 new enterprises have been financed.
Proceeding from the above-stated, 57 new enterprises were launched in the Kakheti Region. The Agricultural Projects Management Agency implements the United Agroproject which is designated for the long-termed development and is focused on creation of a type of environment which stimulates increasing of competitiveness in the agricultural sector, providing of a stable rise in production of high quality products and implementation of international standards of food safety.
