In Mtskheta-Mtianeti region, Mtskheta municipality, within the framework of the United Agro-Project, a modern fruit processing plant – the “Caucasus Organic Fruits” Ltd was built. The company has benefited from state support programs, preferential agro-credit and a co-financing project for processing and savings enterprises. The company produces more than 50 tons of different dried fruits per year, for which it uses only local raw materials. The products are mainly exported and sold in the EU countries, though it is planned to operate in the local market as well. About 50 people are employed at the “Caucasus Organic Fruits” Ltd. The company has introduced international standard FSSC 22000.
