Multi-functional savings infrastructure of international standards was set up in Poti with the financial support of the state
Poti Grain Terminal Ltd has created a multifunctional storage infrastructure of international standards with the financial support of the Rural Development Agency. The company has invested a total of GEL 7 million in arranging the storage infrastructure, including GEL 3.5 million is a preferential agro-credit and GEL 500,000 is a grant.
The multifunctional, state-of-the-art 10,000-tonne storage infrastructure is designed to store raw materials needed for combined feed production. Poti Grain Terminal Ltd provides high quality raw materials to local producers of combined feed for stock raising and poultry, which will significantly contribute to the development of combined feed production.
Poti Grain Terminal has already received 10 000 tons of raw materials - the soybean meal from Argentina. The raw material was loaded on an ocean liner in the Port of San Lorenzo in Argentina. It should be noted that soybean meal is one of the most important products for the production of cattle and combined feed.
Giorgi Khanishvili, First Deputy Minister of Environment and Agriculture, Ilia Tamarashvili, Head of the Rural Development Agency and Giorgi Guguchia, State Representative of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Region attended the process of receiving raw materials in the enterprise.
Arrangement of a new storage infrastructure in line with international standards which is created with the financial support of the state in Poti is another step forward for the development of animal husbandry, employment, receiving more budget revenues. Today, when animal husbandry is developing at a rapid pace, it is essential to have a well-maintained infrastructure in the country to store raw materials for animal feed. The multifunctional storage infrastructure of Poti Grain Terminal Ltd that meets international standards is another proof that the programs of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia are systematic and are already yielding successful results, - said the First Deputy Minister of Environment and Agriculture Giorgi Khanishvili.
According to Giorgi Guguchia, State Representative of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Region, the creation of such infrastructure is important for the economic development of the region.
