Agro-project “ Plant the future” has been amended

Under the Governmental decision, one of the successful Project Plant the Future initiated by the Ministry of Agriculture of Georgia has been amended that is targeted to plant perennial cultures all over Georgia. Under the Agro-project framework Plant the future the farmers shall acquire the possibility to plant blackberries and raspberries cultures all over the regions in Georgia. Simultaneously, the Project has been supplemented with the possibility to plant the quince species in Kakheti, Shida Kartli, Kvemo Kartli, Mtkheta-Mtianeti, Samtskhe-Javakheti, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti. As The Minister of Agriculture of Georgia Levan Davitashvili noted by the end of governmental meeting , the above-mentioned project is being implemented successfully and over the half of 1500 hectares intensive and intensive gardens within the country of Georgia has been already planted, which implies the development of the new type of the gardening (horticulture) equipped with the modern technologies. The farmers interested in panting of afore-mentioned cultures, which are been involved within the agro-project Plant the Future, the 70 % on the nursery cost and 50 % of the price on the settlement of sprinkler irrigation systems shall be granted under the State support. Under the frame of the Agro-project Plant the future the new perennial orchards on 2044 Hectares are being planted/have been planted and the state co-funding amounted to GEL 9,767,644. Through the initiative of the Ministry of Agriculture of Georgia, the Agricultural management Agency has been implementing the Agro-Project Plant the future since 2015. It is designed for growth of maximum targeted usage of agricultural land spots, planting the perennial gardens and the nursery gardening industry arrangement in all the Municipalities of Georgia (Except Tbilisi, Rustavi, Batumi, Kutaisi and Poti) The State co-financing volume for the agro-project Plant the Future will be as follows: In case of planting the orchard - 70% of plant costs and 50% of sprinkler irrigation system costs;In case of nursery gardens 50 % of the costs for the foundation of nursery gardens.
